An accused drug kingpin allegedly behind a botched 900kg cocaine import that led to bricks of the drugs washing up on NSW beaches also pulled the strings on a mammoth haul dropped overboard from a bulk carrier off the WA coast, police have claimed.
The 36-year-old man — who is accused of being the Australian leader of a transnational crime organisation — was arrested in Brisbane on Wednesday and was charged with several serious drug trafficking offences.
